Enormous Brands has won the creative duties for hyper-local online platform nearbuy. On February 20, Ankur Warikoo, Founder and CEO, nearbuy, called for a pitch, inviting all creative agencies. What possibly started as India’s first Facebook Live brief from a client saw participation from 96 agencies, out of which the company met 24 agencies face-to-face and shortlisted three of them.
In yet another Facebook Live video, Warikoo announced Enormous Brands as its creative agency. The account will be handled from the agency’s Gurgaon office. BBH and Publicis were the other two agencies.
Warikoo took Facebook to express his appointment as his post read: “nearbuy's search for a creative agency has finally come to an end. What started as possibly India's first FB live brief from a client (on February 20) resulted in 96 pitches, 24 face-to-face interactions and three finalists.”
He said, “The agency which has won is now in front of me. It was a very hard decision for us. We want to acknowledge BBH and Publicis, who were the two other finalists. Brilliant experience working with them. I don’t think nearbuy is going through another pitch process ever again, because we do the three best agencies now.”
Announcing the agency, he said, “I won’t call them an agency now, because they are our partners now. It is this very young and dynamic agency called Enormous based in Mumbai and Gurgaon and we will work with their Gurgaon team.”
Ashish Khazanchi, Managing Partner, Enormous Brands, said, “I think it’s much less me and more of these folks. For us also it was a wonderful journey. We are a mid-sized agency now in our fourth year. This was fantastic for us from the time we saw the Facebook video, we realised that this is a company which is doing things in an unusual way. For us the journey was very interesting. When I first met Ankur, I had very less knowledge about the product. We thought it would be easy, but when we started working on it, it was anything but easy. It was one of the most sought after pitch. We are really excited. We look forward to doing some good work.”
