Ad Stars extends entry deadline for 2017 awards

Ad Stars has extended the entry deadline for 2017 awards until June 15, 2017, giving advertising, production and creative professionals just two more weeks to enter their work into one of the world’s fastest-growing festivals of creativity.

With more than 20,000 entries anticipated in 2017 from over 70 countries, Ad Stars claims to be the biggest and most egalitarian advertising awards show in Asia by virtue of the fact it is free to enter all categories with the exception of Innovation and Integrated. Ad Stars is also the only festival with a US$10,000 prize for Grand Prix of the Year winners.

Suthisak Sucharittanonta, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of BBDO Bangkok, said winning Grand Prix of the Year at Ad Stars 2016 for ‘MOTO Repellent’ was “music to our ears … and to throw in $10,000, what team in the world wouldn’t love that?”

Sucharittanonta is now joining Ad Stars 2017 as an Executive Judge. “I accepted the invitation to judge Ad Stars because it’s different from other awards shows. It’s an international awards show that has no entry fee, is judged by international juries, and gives monetary prizes to Grand Prix winners,” he said.

Anselmo Ramos, Chief Creative Officer of DAVID in Miami, is also attending as an Executive Judge. “Everyone says great things about Ad Stars and South Korea. I look forward to judging an award that I haven’t judged before, especially one that doesn’t charge for submissions, so more people can participate,” he said.

There are 18 awards categories this year: Film, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Interactive, Mobile, Promotion, Direct, PR, Integrated, Media, Innovation, Design, Film Craft, PSA, Diverse Insights, Place and Video Stars (for branded content).
