REMONETISE-INDIA

Times Network, the broadcast arm of the Times Group, had announced the launch of a nationwide initiative urging Indians to mark the next step forward from demonetisation and Pledge for Growth–'Remonetise India', earlier in the month.

As a part of this campaign, the network conducted a live telethon across all their channels. Through the live telethon, Times Network connected viewers to opinion and policy makers and encouraged them to move to a digital and a cashless economy.

The live telethon was set in motion and moderated by Faye Dsouza, Editor Magicbricks Now and Anand Narasimhan, senior anchor and Editorial Consultant, Times Now. The telethon witnessed participation from eminent personalities like Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister, IT, Law and Justice;  Nirmala Sitharaman, MoS (Independent Charge), Ministry of Commerce and Industry Minister for Commerce; Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Ayog; Narayana Murthy, Founder, Infosys; Deepak Parekh, Chairman, HDFC; Sunil Munjal, Joint – MD, Hero Corp; Kunal Bahal, CEO, Snapdeal; Abhiraj Bhal, Co-Founder, Urban Clap and author and motivational speaker Chetan Bhagat.

The live telethon was conducted from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on January 14.

In support of the movement, the network will also conduct several on-ground activities like Aadhaar camps, investor camps and cashless festivals apart from a 360 degree campaign approach that will involve various channels of communication, including on-air, digital and social media promotions and educating people about the advantages and benefits of a cashless economy and digital transactions.
