The Volkswagen Group has awarded the contract for its media budget to the Omnicom Media Group from January 1, 2017. The decision follows a review of the overall budget and an intensive pitch over a period of eight months.
New digitalization possibilities and new ways of targeting specific groups are to be put to much greater use in media planning. The mandate covers all eight VW Group brands and its international markets. Volkswagen Group plans to focus its media strategy more strongly on new digital challenges.
In the Indian market, the account is set to move to PHD India as a result of the global alignment. The long-time incumbent agency is Mediacom.
The group said in a statement: “The media holding of the Omnicom Group stood out against the competition and convinced all the Group brands involved by providing trends-setting impetus in media management and a broad-based, strategically sound service range.”
