Times Network, part of the media conglomerate, The Times Group, will host the Second Digital India Summit, on the theme, 'A Digital India. An Empowered India' on Tuesday, March 22, in New Delhi.

The Second Digital India Summit will bring together celebrated thought leaders and digital evangelists on a common platform, to ideate on important areas and issues. Through the initiative, the Times Network will also recognize and honour individuals, businesses and organizations that are harnessing the power of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) and digital tools.

The Second Digital India Summit will be telecast on Times Network television channels, Times Now and ET NOW. The day-long summit will begin with a keynote address by Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad, who supports the initiative for the second consecutive year.

The Second Digital India Summit will bring together several eminent leaders from across industry, government and academia, who will deliberate on set goals, evaluate performance and identify areas where more attention is required. Among the highlights of the day will be a special address by one of the most respected thought leaders, Amit Midha – President, Dell Inc. Asia Pacific & Japan and Chairman, Dell Emerging Markets, Dell.

Participants will be able to listen to speakers like R. Chandrashekharv, President, Nasscom, Debjani Ghosh, VP Sales and Marketing Group and MD, Intel South Asia, Nitin Kunkolienkar VP and Director, MAIT and Smartlink and Shrikhant Sinha, CEO, Nasscom Foundation. Among the others on the podium, will be Sudhir Hasija, Chairman, Karbonn. The speakers will address important issues pertaining to empowering a Digital India, across five different sessions through the day.

These sessions will throw light on topics like, 'Delivering on the Digital India Dream – The Story So Far', 'Building a Digital Economy (A roadmap to change India's future)', 'Digital India - Developing Digital Entrepreneurs (Internet enabling entrepreneurs to tap the big Indian e-commerce opportunity)', 'Making India an Electronics Manufacturing Hub and Developing Digital Workforce Critical for Digital India and ICT'.

Second Digital India Summit Awards

The day will conclude with the prestigious Digital India Summit Awards being given out to leaders whose efforts and initiatives have contributed the most to the Digital India Summit's primary objectives to help India transform business processes, improve delivery of public services and so, create a positive impact on society.

The Second Digital India Summit works to identify and honour torch-bearers, who are harnessing the power of ICT and digital. To promote the Second Digital India Summit, Times Network will run an exhaustive high-decibel Call-for-Entries campaign to invite participation from businesses and organizations that are harnessing the power of technology and connectivity to transform businesses and lives of people.

The entire process, from call for entries to the selection and short listing, will flow across a month. The short-listing of awardees will be through an eminent jury meet, to be followed by the announcement of winners and finally, the felicitation of awardees on the awards night.

The Digital India Awards

The awards are divided into two parts, 'Good For India' and 'Good For Organizations'. The Good For India awards will recognize the initiatives taken by stakeholders towards the accomplishment of the Digital India Dream - initiatives that have the potential to bring in a technology-based transformation and revolution to the country. The Good for Organizations awards will recognize organizations that have made the first move towards Digital India by successfully using ICT in integrating people, processes and data to achieve business transformation and growth.

Award Categories

'Good For India' has Smart City solutions in seven categories, E-governance solutions, E-education learning solutions, E-healthcare delivery solutions, Skills and employment solutions, Energy solutions, Environment solutions and Agricultural Solutions. 'Good For Organizations' has four categories under Digital Enterprise, which are Manufacturing, Services, Digital Start-up Innovators and Digital Social Innovation

Stellar Jury

After receiving the entries and case studies, the process partner, Ernst & Young, will scrutinize and assess all entries and then invite selected participants to present their case studies to the final jury that consists of eminent industry leaders. The Second Digital India Summit aspires to be among India's most definitive platforms for speeding the nation's transition to Digital India.
