Zee appoints Partha Thakur as Non Fiction Head of Essel Vision

With the overall strategic vision of the business to strengthen its content and develop different genres of production, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEE) announces the appointment of Partha Thakur as Non Fiction Programming Head – Essel Vision Productions with effect from November 3, 2014. The non-fiction content vertical has been providing innovative content and delivering on turnkey projects consistently for ZEE. This appointment will further nurture the vertical to grow the business by creating cutting edge content and formats. For his role, Thakur will report into Akash Chawla, Business Head – Essel Vision Productions Ltd.
Thakur has done his Masters in Communication Studies from Pune University and has over 15 years of experience in the Media and Entertainment business. He has lead teams in producing television content for multiple broadcasters in India. He has creatively executed a number of TV shows and events in different capacities. Apart from directing and being a Creative Head of several programmes, he has also been responsible for production and operations, budgeting and planning strategies. He has produced hundreds of hours of programming for various broadcasters like Zee TV, Star plus, Star World, Sony Entertainment Television, Colors, MTV, Sun TV, Vijay TV, NDTV, Pogo, Disney Network, UTV and Fox Traveler to name a few.
Thakur has also worked with Wizcraft Television, Miditech Productions, Optimystix Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Searchlight Productions and MTV India. He has worked on multiple seasons of shows such as Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Indian Idol, Fame Gurukul, IIFA Awards, GIMA Awards, Apsara Awards, Zee Rishtey Awards, Dare to Dance, amongst others. Thakur has not only has experience of working on Indian Television shows, but has also worked on shows in South Africa, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Thakur's last assignment was at Sol Productions as the Non Fiction Head and Creative Director.
