The show which was launched in 2004 had its second season in 2006 and then went off air for reasons unknown. Namit Sharma, Programming Head, Zee TV, said, “It was after the success of Dance India Dance, which spawned so many variations, that there was no mind space to do a non-dancing programme. It was only recently that we took a conscious call to get this show back which is new, innovative and also a format which people are familiar with.”
The show sees newness in its format, which will be judged by Acharya aka Victor, the director of 'Dhoom 3' and the gorgeous Sonali Bendre. The production houses, Essel Vision and TrompeL'oiel Media, are looking out to fill the third position on the judges' panel from a list of A-league actors and renowned directors. Hussain Kuwajerwala will be hosting the show.

Parineeti's journey from a PR consultant and an aspiring investment banker to a leading cine star is sure to inspire the contestants. Ayushmann, who also entered the industry just on sheer talent and has made it big, has insights to share which will add value to the learning process of the cine stars.
The participants will go through a slew of challenging rounds which will test their spontaneity, versatility, presence of mind and sheer mettle to perform a number of different acting styles.
The show will be promoted through an aggressive 360 degree marketing plan. The TVCs have been rolled out and engagement in the digital platforms has also started. Activities will become more intense as the show progresses.
