Cannes-Lions-2014

As the curtains came down on the 61st Cannes Lions Festival on Sunday, it became clear that it was not a great outing for Indian agencies this time compared to last year. India notched up a total of 27 Lions – and a Lions Health Bronze for Havas Worldwide India – this year, against 34 Lions in 2013.

As for Gold Lions, while Indian agencies brought back 8 last year, this year's tally was a meagre 5.

And there was no Grand Prix.

Taproot and McCann drew a blank this year in Gold Lions. In Cannes Lions 2013, Taproot had brought glory with 4 Gold Lions, while McCann had picked up 2. The Gold Lions this year are being carted back to the country by PHD India with 2, and one each by Grey India, Ogilvy and Lowe & Partners. Grey and Ogilvy had bagged one Gold Lion each last year too.
