Cannes Lions 2013: Indian haul reaches 34 Lions with Silver in Film and Bronze in Film Craft
Lowe Lintas Mumbai's film 'Help a child reach 5' for Lifebuoy bags Silver Lion in Film. Ramesh Deo Produtions gets Bronze Lion

India hit record 34 Lions at 60th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2013 with final 2 Lions – one each in Film and Film Craft. At the final awards ceremony held yesterday night at Grand Auditorium, Palais des Festivals, India won a Silver Lion in Film and a Bronze Lion in Film Craft from a total of 6 shortlists.
There was only one shortlist in Film category this year that turned into Silver Lion. Lowe Lintas Mumbai's film titled 'Help a child reach 5' done for Unilever's Lifebuoy won the Silver Lion in Corporate Image sub-category. The entrant company of the Film Lion is Lowe + Partners London but the film was developed by Lowe Lintas + Partners Mumbai for Lifebuoy so here we are counting it as India's win.
Last year, India's only shortlist in Film could not turn into medal.
Ramesh Deo Productions hit a Bronze Lion in Film Craft category for JWT's 'Parallel Journeys' campaign for Nike in Sound Design sub-category.
Last year, Ramesh Deo Productions and Taproot India duo had hit a Gold Lion in Film Craft for Mumbai Mirror's 'I am Mumbai'.
With 34 Lions including 8 Gold, 6 Silver and 20 Bronze Lions, 2013 was certainly the best year for India at Cannes Lions. Last year, India's medal tally halted at 14 while it was 24 in 2011 and 17 in 2010.
