McCann hires two new Creative Directors

McCann Worldgroup has announced the appointment of Vinod Lal Heera Eshwer and Melvin Jacob as Creative Directors in its Bangalore office.

Eshwer's advertising career is divided between two offices of two agencies – Ogilvy and Meridian, Bangalore, and Saatchi & Saatchi, Bangalore and Kuala Lumpur. His work has been awarded at all major international shows including Cannes, D&AD, One Show, LIAA, CA, and Clio among others. His most rewarding pieces of work are two books that he has written and illustrated for children about planting trees and harvesting rainwater.

Clocking over 15 years of agency time, Jacob started out at Chrysalis in Trivandrum, with stints at Maitri and David in Madras, TBWA Dubai, Ogilvy's Global Hub in Bangalore and most recently Lowe in Malaysia.

Call it sour grapes for not having won anything significant, he feels that the awards rush has taken a lot away from everyday work that the client pays for. He believes that it's time this work got some love back.

Outside of work he gets away to guitar riffs, comparative mythology, martial arts literature and beaches.

"The pace of Indian advertising is immense and McCann Bangalore seems to be channelling that energy in South India. On paper, the brands and teams look interesting, so should be good to see what gives,” said Jacob.
