Rajasthan shows good signs in the current survey; every newspaper gain readers except Rajasthan Patrika.

‘Rajasthan Patrika’ continues to be No.1 in the Royal state with an AIR of 70.26 lakh but has lost 1.09 lakh readers in Q4 of IRS 2010. In Q3 of IRS 2010 Patrika had an AIR 71.35 lakh and added 3.30 lakh readers. In Q1 of IRS 2010 the Hindi daily had an AIR of 65.93 lakh. In year 2010 Rajastha Patrika has added 4.33 lakh new readers and grown by 6.6% over the year.
‘Dainik Bhaskar’ has again performed well and has added 2.75 lakh new readers in the current IRS. The paper is gradually narrowing the gap with Rajasthan Patrika. Bhaskar enjoys an AIR of 63.79 lakh. in Q1 of IRS 2010 Bhaskar had an AIR of 60 lakh. Growing by 6.3% over the year, Dainik Bhaskar has added 3.79 lakh new readers in 2010.
At no 3 is ‘Dainik Navjyoti’ with an AIR of 4.44 lakh. the paper has added 27,000 readers in the current quarter and has grown by 6.5 per cent. The Hindi daily has been consistently gaining readers. In Q1 of IRS 2010 Navjyoti had an AIR of 3.65 lakh. In year 2010 Navjyoti has gained 79,000 readers.
Nation’s No.1 English daily ‘The Times of India’ is at no 4 position in Rajasthan Market with an AIR of 2.11 lakh. The paper has gained 12,000 readers in the Q4of IRS 2010 and has shown growth of 6 per cent. In previous quarter TOI had an AIR 1.99 lakh. the paper has gained 30,000 readers in the current year. In Q1 of IRS 2010 TOI had an AIR of 1.81 lakh.
At no 5 is ‘Daily News’ with an AIR of 1.89 lakh. The paper has added 14,000 readers in the current IRS. In IRS Q3 2010 Daily News had an AIR of 1.75 lakh. It has added 30,000 readers in year 2010. In Q1 the daily news had an AIR of 1.59 lakh.
No. 6 spot has been taken ‘Punjab Kesri’ with an AIR of 1.8 lakh. the hidi daily had an AIR of 1.55 lakh in the previous quarter and has added 25,000 readers in the current quarter. The hindi daily had an AIR of 1.76 lakh in Q1 of IRS 2010. In year 2010 Punjab Kesri has added only 4000 readers.
‘News Today’ is at no 7 position with an AIR of 1.49 lakh. the paper has gained 15,000 readers in the current quarter and has grown by 11.2 per cent. The paper had an AIR of 1.35 lakh in the previous quarter.
At no 8 is ‘Rashtradoot’ with an AIR of 78,000. In the previous quarter also the daily had same readership while it had an AIR of 77,000 in Q2 of IRS 2010.
Nation’s no. 2 English daily ‘Hindustan Times’ is at no 9 spot in the Rajasthan Market with an AIR of 43,000. in previous quarter also HT had same readership figures. In Q2 of IRs 2010 HT had an AIR of 39,000 and 43,000 in Q1 of IRS 2010. In year 2010 HT has managed to get 1,000 new readers.
Trailing at no 10 position is English daily ‘DNA’ with an AIR of 34,000. The paper had an AIR of 25,000 in the last quarter. The current quarter the English daily has shown good growth and has added 9,000 readers.
