IRS Q4 2010: Top 10 Dailies in Himachal Pradesh
Most of the dailies have lost readers but Hindi Daily Amar Ujala is still going strong in the hilly state.

Hills of Himachal Pradesh are being ruled by the Hindi Daily 'Amar Ujala' with an AIR of 4.25 lakh. the paper has grown by 9 per cent and has added 35000 new readers to its kitty in the Q4 of IRS 2010. In the previous quarter Amar Ujala had an AIR of 3.90 lakh and 4.01 lakh in Q1 of IRS 2010. In the year 2010 Amar Ujala added 24000 new readers.
'Punjab Kesari' continues to loose readers in Himachal as well. The paper is at number 2 spot with an AIR of 3.38 but has lost 45000 readers in the current quarter in previous quarter also Punjab Kesari lost 23000readers and its AIR was 3.83 lakh. In Q1 of IRS 2010 Kesri had an AIR of 3.70lakh. In the year 2010 Punjab Kesari lost 32000 readers.
'Divya Himachal' is at number 3 slot with an AIR of 1.7 lakh and has added 13000 readers in the Q4 of IRS 2010. The hindi daily lost 10000 readers in last quarter and had an AIR of 1.67 lakh. in Q1 of IRS 2010 Divya Himachal had an AIR of 1.33 lakh. In the year 2010 Divya Himachal gained 37000 news readers.
At number 4 is 'Dainik Bhaskar' with 64000 readers. The paper has lost 10000 readers in the current AIR. In Q3 of IRS 2010 Bhaskar had an AIR of 74000 readers. In the year 2010 Dainik Bhaskar lost 19000 readers.
English Daily 'The Tribune' continues to be at number 5 position with 45000 readers. The paper has lost 3000 readers in the current IRS. the Tribune had an AIR of 48000 readers in Q2 and 50000 in Q1 of IRS 2010. In the year 2010 The Tribune lost 5000 readers.
At number six is Nation's number 1 Hindi daily 'Dainik Jagran' with 31000 readers. The Hindi daily has lost 5000 readers in the current quarter. It had an AIR of 36000in Q3 of IRS 2010. Dainik Jagran lost 18000 readers in 2010.
Despite loosing 1000 readers 'Hindustan Times' is remains at 7th position with 14000 readers. The English daily had an AIR of 15000 in the previous quarter. HT added 4000 new readers in 2010.
'The Times of India' is at No.8 with 13000 readers. The paper has lost 1000 readers in the current quarter. In Q3 of IRS 2010 TOI had an AIR of 14000. TOI added 6000 new readers in year 2010.
Number 9 spot has been taken by 'The Economic Times'. The business daily has an AIR of 4000 in the current quarter. In Q3 of IRS 2010 ET had an AIR of 3000.
At No.10 is 'Business Standard' with 1000 readers.
