Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Viacom18 - the digital rights holder - has roped in 13 streaming sponsors for the tournament.
It is noteworthy that the company will be streaming all the matches from the tournament for free to all internet users on the JioCinema app.
According to the sources, the sponsors include Parle, Dream11, TVS, Puma, ET Money, Mondelez, Kamla Pasand, Pepsi and ITC. Besides these, the company has also signed sponsorship with brands across categories - including e-commerce, four-wheelers, consumer electronics and auto ancillary. Apart from sponsors, the company has also roped in various spot buyers.
Earlier, Viacom18 had signed Tata Motors, Tata Capital, Hero Vida, Bank of Baroda, MPL Striker, World Gold Council, H&M, JSW Paints, Noise and Apar Industries as sponsors for the inaugural edition of Women’s Premier League.
On the other hand, Disney Star, the broadcast media rights holder, had also roped in 11 sponsors and around 55 brands ahead of IPL.
According to sources, some of the main sponsors could be Vivo, Airtel, Coke, Asian Paints, Pepsi, Tata and Dream 11. The 55 advertisers that have been onboarded are primarily from categories like fantasy gaming, beverage, telecom, fintech, insurance, auto, online delivery, consumer durables, paints, FMCG and travel.
Earlier, Disney Star confirmed that it is set to broadcast 12 IPL matches for free on its free-to-air (FTA) channel Star Utsav Movies in 2023.
