GEC Watch: Colors returns to No. 1 position in Urban markets

Sony Entertainment Television slips to No. 2 followed by Zee TV and Star Plus. Zee Anmol continues to lead U+R markets followed by Zee TV and Star Bharat

In Week 41 of 2017 (October 7-13), Colors bounced back to No. 1 position in Urban markets pushing Sony Entertainment Television to No. 2. Sony was followed by Zee TV and Star Plus at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively.

Zee Anmol continued to lead Rural and U+R markets. The combined markets saw Zee TV, Star Bharat and Colors at No. 2, 3 and 4 respectively where Star Plus continued to be at No. 7 in the second consecutive week.

Among top shows, Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya and Kumkum Bhagya continued to rule the chart in combined markets followed by Kaun Banega Crorepati. KBC retained the top position in Urban markets.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 41 (October 7-13) of 2017 for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Zee Anmol remained on the top position in the combined markets recording viewership of 757.146 million (last week 786.847 million) Impressions. Zee TV climbed up to No. 2 position with 656.892 million (last week 616.889 million) Impressions. Star Bharat remained at No. 3 with 634.922 million (last week 624.082 million) Impressions. Colors slipped to No. 4 with 609.841 million (last week 626.274 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television stayed put at No. 5 with 565.636 million (last week 604.669 million) Impressions. Sony Pal was at No. 6 with 526.821 million (last week 546.386 million) Impressions. Star Plus remained at No. 7 with 485.656 million (last week 507.172 million) Impressions. Zee TV’s original show Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 2 position with 10.788 million (last week 9.706 million). Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony Entertainment Television came at No. 3 in the Hindi Speaking Markets by garnering 10.167 million (last week 11.533 million) Impressions. India-Australia T20 match on DD National scored 10.054 million Impressions to stand at No. 4. Sony TV’s dance reality show Super Dancer Chapter 2 came in at No. 5 with 9.032 million Impressions.
