NDTV's veteran journalist Kamal Khan, 61, passes away

NDTV’s senior journalist and Executive Editor Kamal Khan passed away at the age of 61 after suffering a heart-attack on Friday.

Khan had sent his last story on the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election just a day before. The Lucknow bureau chief for NDTV was known for his vast Urdu vocabulary and poetic style of reporting.

He began working with NDTV as a resident editor and rose through the ranks with his hard work and grit. Khan was also the recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Award and the Ganesh Shanker Vidyarthi Award, both of which are awarded to journalists who excel in their fields.

He is survived by his wife and his son.

Several personalities from the media fraternity, politicians and celebrities took to social media to convey their condolences.
