From February 10, Marathi daily Lokmat will offer its Sunday supplement ‘Manthan’ as part of the main newspaper. The move comes after the newspaper found during in-house research that the readership numbers of its supplement was de-growing.
To address the challenge, it enhanced ‘Manthan’ for its 2.13 crore readers in the main issue with the aim of increasing the time spent on newspaper reading. As trends indicate, there is a distinctly a high engagement level with newspaper on weekends.
‘Manthan’, earlier a four-page supplement, will now emphasise on popular content, including current affairs, political views and opinion-makers, in the main issue.
Pushkar Kulkarni, General Manager Product Development, Lokmat Media, said, “Every media house thinks about readers’ interests, and thus we came up with this initiative of bringing ‘Manthan’ as a part of Lokmat main issue for our readers across Maharashtra.”
