Delhi: On Thursday, Netflix rolled out its first major TV app revamp in a decade, aiming to help viewers decide what to watch faster.

According to media reports, the changes aim to boost viewer time on the app, drawing subscribers to new, cheaper plans with ads. Users were reportedly performing "eye gymnastics" on the home screen, prompting revisions like enlarged title cards and reorganised information.

The company will test the new format with a subset of its 270 million users before wider release. Additionally, Netflix plans to stop regular subscriber number reporting next year.

Other app changes include relocating the menu button and adding a "My Netflix" tab for easy access to watched or saved content. Despite the redesign, Netflix will maintain its personalised recommendation algorithm.
