In the big bad world of internet where AI is gaining more and more prominence and social media is growing at an unprecedented pace, there have been several instances wherein celebrities have become victims to allegedly false and deepfake videos going viral in a miniscule period of time.
Most recently, it was cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar who fell prey to the ill effects of the double-edged sword called AI wherein a morphed video of him claiming that his daughter is earning easy money by playing ‘Skyward Aviator Quest’, seemingly an ad for the gaming app, made rounds on the internet.
Issuing a clarification on the same, he took to X to assert that ‘these videos are fake’ and that ‘it is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology’.
He also requested the public to report videos, ads and apps like these in large numbers.
