After being associated with adidas India for a period of seven and a half years, of which he served as the brand’s CMO for the last three years, Sunil Gupta has now assumed the position of CEO at Delhi Capitals.
Announcing the move on LinkedIn, he stated, “Cricket was my first love. I feel blessed to find myself in a place where I get to do what I love, everyday.”
During his seven and a half years stint at adidas India, he served across various roles such as BU Head- adidas Running for over a year, Head- Concept to Consumer (adidas) for a year, Brand Director- Reebok India for two years and finally as CMO- adidas India for three years.
Prior to joining adidas India, Gupta was associated with Coca-Cola India for nearly four years wherein he joined as Marketing Manager- Emerging Markets in October 2012 and was elevated to the role of Brand Manager- Kinley in January 2014. Later in October 2015, he assumed the role of Senior Brand Manager- Hydration at the company and parted ways a year later.
In the past, he also worked as Brand Manager- Activation (Southeast and South Asia) at Marico for nearly a year before he was elevated to the role of Brand Manager (Southeast and South Asia) at Marico in April 2011. A year and a half later, he decided to call it quits at the company.
Earlier on, he also worked with GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare.
