Google announced the launch of its ‘most capable’ AI model, Gemini, accessible to users worldwide and will be seamlessly integrated into both Bard and the latest Pixel 8 Pro smartphones.
Gemini can generalise and understand, operate across and combine different types of information including text, images, audio, video and code.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said Gemini 1.0 is optimised for different sizes: Ultra, Pro, and Nano.
“These are the first models of the Gemini era and the first realisation of the vision we had when we formed Google DeepMind earlier this year. This new era of models represents one of the biggest science and engineering efforts we’ve undertaken as a company,” he said.
Gemini will roll out to more Google products and services like Search, Ads, Chrome and Duet AI.
Gemini is set to expand its presence to additional Google products and services, including Search, Ads, Chrome, and Duet AI.
Companies can leverage Gemini for elevated customer service interactions through advanced chatbots and personalised product recommendations. It also proves beneficial for companies engaged in advertising efforts. Additionally, Gemini finds applications in content creation for marketing campaigns or blog content, as well as in productivity apps that aim to summarise meetings or generate code for developers.
The company provided illustrative examples, such as Gemini capturing a screenshot of a chart, analysing extensive research pages, and subsequently updating the chart. Another demonstration involved the analysis of a photo capturing a person's math homework, identifying correct answers, and highlighting any inaccuracies.
