Having launched a couple of months back, in March 2023, as a public experiment in the US and UK, and then being available in 180 countries, Google’s AI Chatbot- Bard has been rolled out in two new ones- Brazil and Europe.
Announcing the new features, the tech giant stated that the latest features on the Bard API offer a range of customisation to users with the ability to get accurate information based on their unique queries.
The company also mentioned that starting now, Bard will be available in 40 more languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, Urdu, etc. apart from being available in new regions.
Moreover, from now on, users will also be able to listen to Bard’s responses which can prove to be helpful in getting the correct pronunciation of a word or listening to a poem or even writing the script, by simply entering the prompt and tapping on the sound icon to hear Bard’s answers and that the same feature is now available in over 40 languages, in addition to making it easier to share part or all of Bard’s chat with a user’s network via shareable links.
The tech giant has now also allowed users to change the tone and style of Bard’s responses in five options – simple, long, short, professional, or casual by adjusting it using the drop-down. Presently, this feature is available in English, however, it will soon be expanded to other languages as well.
Google has even introduced new ways to pin and rename one’s conversations with Bard through options to pin, rename, and pick up recent conversations in the sidebar, thereby helping users easy accessibility to revisit his/her older prompts.
Also, as disclosed during the Google I/O event, Bard will now even harness the power of Google Lens as users can now include images in their prompts and then with the help of Lens, Bard can generate responses and be able to share information about the respective images. Currently, this feature is only available in English and will soon be expanded to other languages.
