GroupM has begun rejigging its leadership structure in the APAC market to four different market clusters- Greater China and North Asia (Korea and Japan), South Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia New Zealand.
As a result, Ashutosh Srivastava, the APAC CEO of the media agency will soon vacate the role and shift to a new opportunity within WPP.
As per reports, the restructuring of GroupM’s APAC business is a result of the media agency looking at simplifying its business structure and to enable itself to move faster and be more aligned with its clients, who believe its markets should be managed at a much more local level.
As part of this plan, the current CEO of GroupM’s China market, Patrick Xu will oversee Greater China and North Asia (Korea and Japan); Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam CEO Himanshu Shekhar will oversee Southeast Asia market. South Asia will be led by the current South Asia CEO Prasanth Kumar, and Australia New Zealand will continue to be led by Australia and New Zealand CEO Aimee Buchanan.
