Google has elevated Sapna Chadha as Vice-President (VP) for Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier division.
Chadha is taking over from Stephanie Davis, who is now moving to Europe in a new role.
Chadha, who has been with Google for over eight years, previously held the position of Vice-President of Marketing for Southeast Asia and India at Google.
Sharing the news through a post on LinkedIn, Chadha wrote, "In this role, I will lead our business growth, strategy, and operations in this dynamic region within Asia Pacific."
"This region which we affectionately call “SEAS” internally has not only become home for me, but it has captured me just as Jacques Cousteau says – ‘The sea, once it casts its spell upon a man, can never be shaken off’.”
Furthermore, she stated that both Southeast Asia and the South Asia Frontier are home to some of the most innovative and entrepreneurial people, businesses and advertisers and she is excited to lead her team and help businesses thrive in this digital decade.
"It has been amazing to work alongside my dear colleague Stephanie Davis and witness the great work she and the team have done. I am honoured to take the baton from her with her move to Europe, and work closely with the strong team we have in place," Chadha wrote.
She added, "I am certainly hopeful that this year, and the years to come, will continue to be fulfilling as we charge ahead with our efforts to bring helpful products and services to more users and businesses and invest in skilling programs through meaningful public-private partnerships."
Google's purpose has always been to build helpful products to give people access to knowledge and information everywhere, Chadha stated.
“I'm glad we brought many products to life across this region together and look forward to more, as thankfully we will continue to work together (just in a new way). I know this team will continue to bring our company's values and magic to more people,” she added.
Prior to this, Chadha worked as the Marketing Director, Google Southeast Asia and India between January 2017 and March 2019. Later, she was elevated to the role of Senior Marketing Director, Google India and Southeast Asia.
With a career spanning over 25 years, Chadha has also worked with Deloitte Consulting, American Express, Mobile Marketing Association - APAC, in various capacities.
