Viacom 18 had bagged the rights for becoming the official broadcaster for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in India and had with great joy announced that the live-streaming of all matches and curated content around the once-in-four-years’ tournament will take place on JioCinema.
But barely after the first day of the tournament a slew of comments on social media surfaced which targeted the streaming platform. The comments highlighted the inconvenience caused to the viewers owing to the constant buffering and audio going off-track.
Seriously @JioCinema , you want us to watch the #FIFAWorldCup like this? Absolutely silly of them to get into a league like this & deliver what seems quite pathetic so far ! #JioCinema #FIFAWorldCup2022 pic.twitter.com/sGy5JcKlUf

Someone told to the employees of #Jio that "Goal is the most 'Achhe' thing in Football " .
They thought it was all about Modiji's Achhe Din.
So, Like the reality - They also skipped that in Live match too.
Slow Claps to them.#JioCinema #Jiodown #FIFAWorldCup2022 #FIFA pic.twitter.com/dzcTZEzF5i— Soumyasanta Rakshit (@Soumyasanta09) November 21, 2022
Is the 14mins stoppage time coz of stoppage of play or compensation for the lag in #JioCinema ? pic.twitter.com/n5dJW7TMXu

Several netizens also vented out their frustration regarding the poor viewing experience in the first match between the host country, Qatar, and Ecuador.
Extremely disappointed with the live-streaming of FIFA WC, some Twitterati also went on to express that the live streaming rights be taken away from JioCinema and handed over to other players.
Prediction: Ambani will win the #FIFAWorldCup2022! All 32 teams will be frozen on his #JioCinema so that he can pick the trophy and walk away.

#JioCinema you need to understand, we get the #Fifa World Cup ONCE IN 4 YEARS. This ain't IPL or some crap that happens yearly. If you think putting up such a shitty service will gain you long term paying customers, you're delusional.Fix it or give the rights to a better ott.

Reliance has single handedly ruined the entire world cup experience with their sub standard app. They are literally beta testing #JioCinema for #IPL2023 season. Please show some respect to Indian football fans too! #FIFAWorldCup2022 https://t.co/dH5KxU2RMv
