Deepika Padukone’s newly launched skincare line 82°E, which was launched on Tuesday, has been getting trolled heavily.
The actor also took to Instagram Live to talk about the products. However, some of the fans that attended the live session claimed that Padukone could not answer their questions about the products clearly.
According to netizens, the price-point of basic products like sunscreen and moisturiser are too high. The brand has so far launched two products, ‘Ashwagandha Bounce’ moisturiser and ‘Patchouli Glow’ sunscreen, priced at Rs 2,700 and Rs 1,800 respectively.
Skincare girlies, what do we think of Deepika's new skincare line? Cash grab or...?
This pricing is literally ridiculous though, more expensive than imported high end lines also. pic.twitter.com/iuI8bEdE4s— Sherina (@Sherinapoyyail) November 16, 2022
Expensive for no reason. A sunscreen for 1800 rupees that's only 30ml? It would empty out in 3-4 uses.

Some others also pointed out that the overall branding and the launch have not been at par with other international brands in the space.
Boring. Boring marketing, boring packaging, boring positioning, boring products with little or nothing to offer.

Such an underwhelming and poorly done launch. For one of the biggest stars of the era to take on everybody's positioning with nothing special going on is insane to me.

Like Diet Sabha pointed out, the marketing so far has also been so poor, no pre launch hype building, little interaction during launch. Could be useful to take a leaf out of Katrina and Kay Beauty's book with regards to marketing.
