Republic network pays incentives, hikes salaries for employees

After almost six very difficult months, India’s media industry seems to be getting back on track.

The country’s leading TV news brand, Republic TV, has decided to increase the salary of its employees, along with giving performance bonus for last year, according to sources.

“In order to reward the efforts of its employees and deriving confidence from the way it could sustain during this difficult pandemic, the organisation has decided to complete the temporarily deferred appraisal process and roll out healthy and appropriate increments to its long-serving employees. The organisation has already paid out the performance incentives for FY 19-20, in sync with the pre-Covid period,” an industry source said.

Most media houses had reduced the salary of their employees earlier this year as revenue saw a steep decline because of the pandemic. The industry also saw widespread retrenchments around the same time.
