“We are not looking at monetising the app,” he said in a conversation with

Dolby On is designed to make recording and live streaming sound and video with unparalleled audio quality incredibly simple, using nothing but the device. Seth said the app has gained a tremendous response ever since it was introduced on iOS and Android.

He said live concerts and events are the future and technology is of utmost importance. “Live streaming concerts and events could be the new normal. It allows artists to experiment and to reach out to a larger audience. Technology has a great role to play in enabling a great live streaming experience.”

“With Dolby On’s live streaming feature, you can be sharing out to Twitch on Vimeo or Facebook Live with just the press of a button or use RTMP to open up endless streaming possibilities,” he added.

Seth spoke about their recent collaboration with JioSaavn for their initiative ‘JioSaavn Live Anywhere’ and said these initiatives offer alternate revenue streams to artists and reach out to a wider audience.

“We recently collaborated with JioSaavn, for their initiative ‘JioSaavn Live Anywhere’, where a series of independent artists took the virtual stage for 20-30-minute sets on JioSaavn’s Facebook Live which was live-streamed through the Dolby On app. The Facebook integration in the app allows the artist to stream their music in real Dolby sound in high-definition directly to JioSaavn’s Facebook Live. Another collaboration with an artist-driven initiative ‘Lockdown Gig’ saw many artists go live using the Dolby On app.”

He said there is a great opportunity for the podcast industry to grow in India given it is a mobile-first nation. “Creators, primarily in music, vlogging, and podcasting that use their mobile devices as a part of their creative process and who value high-quality sound, are increasingly using the Dolby On app,” he added.
