The main building of Zee Media Corporation Limited situated at Noida Sector-16 was sealed by the authorities after six more people tested coronavirus positive yesterday.
District Surveillance Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar said in a statement that the entire building was sealed/closed for sanitisation and containment of the disease after new positive cases were found on different floors of the building.
“The closure process was undertaken in the presence of CMO GB Nagar and police officials. The entire building will be sanitised and entry of employees has been stopped till the building is sanitised and is free from Covid-19 infection. After due sanitisation and following protocols, the health team will issue a premises fitness certificate after which the building shall be allowed to resume its operations.”
The first positive case of Covid-19 at the main building of Zee News was reported on May 15, following which 28 more positive patients were found on May 18.
“On May 15, the fourth floor where all positive patients and their contacts were working was sealed to stop the spread of the disease. The employees and their contacts were confined to this fourth floor. Repeated sanitisation activity was undertaken,” the DSO statement said.
One more employee of Zee Media Corporation Limited tested positive on May 23. On May 24 morning, six contacts of previously positive patients were found to be positive.
All channel operations are continuing to run from another Zee Media building, which is adjacent to the main one.
