Newspaper vendor associations suspend delivery in Mumbai

There were no physical editions of Times of India, Hindustan Times and others in Mumbai as the newspaper vendor associations in Mumbai have decided to suspend delivery in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Newspapers, however, said delivery will be resumed soon

The newspaper delivery supply chain may face a severe challenge across the country as newspaper vendor associations may suspend deliveries.

The physical print editions of Times of India, Hindustan Times and others were not available in Mumbai as the vendor associations decided to suspend the delivery services.

Mumbai has been put under a partial lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Only essential services are available.

In Delhi, there has been an irregularity in the delivery of newspapers. Several areas of the capital and NCR did not get newspapers on Sunday. On Monday as well, there was very limited delivery.

The Delhi government has put the capital under a strict lockdown and only essential services are available.

Sanjeev Bhargava, Brand Director, Times of India, said it's a temporary issue arising due to miscommunication between the two parties. "Hopefully, the issue would be resolved tomorrow," he told BestMediaInfo.com.
