Economic slowdown an opportunity for consulting companies, says Uday Singh Sodhi of Kurate

Economic slowdown actually is a good time for new ventures as they can provide solutions to brands facing a tough time and address their issues better, says Uday Singh Sodhi of Kurate Digital Consulting.

“I think economic slowdown works great for consulting companies because we are able to advise companies,” he said, adding, “It is a perfect time to open up new markets, perfect time to open up new business clients and it's the time when you should look at new customer bases.”

“I think that’s where we come in. We can help you innovate in these tough times, we can help you come up with the right solutions for clients so that they can address the slowdown challenges much better,” said Sodhi—who quit from Sony Pictures Networks last year after working there for almost five years to start his entrepreneurial journey.

Kurate Digital Consulting, Sodhi’s new venture, also aims at providing solutions by integrating digital technology into all areas of a business to fundamentally change how they operate and deliver value to customers.

Talking about what makes Kurate different from other consultancies in the market, Sodhi said, “We are people who have done it, we are people who have 10 -20 years of experience in the digital space and have help build huge products and huge platforms, therefore our ability to advise and provide insights to our clients is different from any other consulting available in the market.”

“The basic thought process was putting together the high-powered team of digital consultants who can address the needs of businesses that need digital transformation and those who need to redefine their digital strategies in this new environment,” he added.

Talking about the client base of the consultancy, Sodhi said they have a good number of clients on board and are focusing on clients with newer products. “We are essentially pitching to newer product companies that are looking at expanding their customer footprint on digital. We are looking at e-commerce and transaction. We are also looking at media companies that want to create a digital strategy and are looking at digital as a new way of reaching out to their consumers. We are looking at B2B companies that are looking for strategies in the digital space,” he said.

Kurate Digital Consulting will have offices in Mumbai and Gurgaon and will be accessible to all companies in India for strategic consultation and execution of digital transformation projects. The company has five founding members who are experts in different fields across digital businesses such as gaming, e-commerce, digital video / OTT, B2B businesses, B2C platforms, consumer marketing, digital marketing, brand, communication, media and content.
