Neeraj Bassi to join Havas Group India as Chief Strategy Officer

Neeraj Bassi to join Havas Group India as Chief Strategy Officer in April 2020. Bassi is currently serving his notice period till March-end, at Publicis India where he was Managing Partner and Chief Strategy Officer.

Shivaji Dasgupta, who joined Havas Group India to lead strategy across all disciplines, including creative, media, health and digital is also quitting the company after a brief stint of less than a year.

Dasgupta took to Facebook to announce his plans to become independent again.

Multiple highly placed sources in the industry have confirmed the news to BestMediaInfo. When contacted, Bassi denied the news. He said he is in talks with multiple organisations. On the other hand, Dasgupta and Havas Group officials could not be reached for comments.

Before joining Havas Group India, Dasgupta was an independent strategy consultant where he provided strategic guidance and brand solutions to regional and global brands. He has also worked with Contract Advertising, Delhi as Executive Vice-President and Head, as well as held senior management positions in Rediffusion and JWT India, spearheading many successful client assignments.

Dasgupta leverages over two decades of experience across the length and breadth of brands across categories including ITC, Pepsi, Airtel, Tata Steel, Mondelez, Piramal Realty, Edelweiss Financial Services, Domino’s Pizza, Tata Motors and Renault Motors.

Before Publicis, Bassi had a brief stint as an independent consultant where he provided strategic guidance and brand solutions for multiple clients across various categories. Before going independent, Bassi was Chief Strategy Officer at Cheil India.

Bassi has worked with some of the top market research networks such as TNS, IMRB and NFO and led the Strategic Planning function in advertising agencies including Ogilvy, JWT, McCann in India and abroad. He has also won multiple awards across reputed award festivals that recognise effectiveness such as Effies (India and APAC), AMES, WARC, etc.

With over two decades of professional experience, Bassi has worked with some of the world’s most renowned brands including Coca-Cola, Asian Paints, Cadbury, BMW, KFC, Adidas, Samsung, British Airways, WeChat, Voltas, Audi, HSBC, Max Life and Tata Singapore Airlines — Vistara among others.
