New York Festivals’ TV and Film Awards open for entries

The competition rolls out new category groups such as sports, streaming, religion and philosophy documentary, social good and sustainable development

New York Festivals announced the TV and Film Awards competition open for entries. NYF’s Television and Film Awards honours storytelling across all platforms.

With 10 years at the helm of NYF’s TV and Film Awards, Rose Anderson VP/Executive Director has helped transform the competition by evaluating and updating categories on a regular basis.

“This year, we recognise the robust growth of streaming and the continued dominance of sports in today’s content landscape as creators find new ways to reach new audiences around the world,” said Anderson.

Traditional and emerging global sports coverage provides sports fans with an explosion of viewing options and the ultimate exposure for teams. Therefore, New York Festivals reorganised the Sports Programmes category group to honour the many facets of sports media. NYF’s streaming category group welcomes storytelling in all genres for all audiences. The newly added Streaming Promotion rounds out the roster. Corporate Image categories create recognition for global brands. With the addition of Social Good and Sustainable Development, NYF’s Corporate Image categories encompass all facets of corporate video messaging. Documentary categories salute in-depth story telling. For 2020, NYF added Religion and Philosophy Documentary to the powerhouse list.
