GEC Watch: Zee TV claims third position in U+R market in Week 50

Star Plus maintained its hold on the top spot in the Urban market while Zee Anmol continued to rule U+R and Rural markets

Zee TV climbed to the third spot in the U+R market while the network’s FTA channel Zee Anmol led the combined U+R and Rural markets in Week 50 of BARC’s television ratings. Star Plus continued to rule the urban markets.

Top channels in U+R market

According to BARC data, India HSM (Urban+Rural): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, for Week 49 (December 1-December 7) of 2018, Zee Anmol at the No.1 position clocked 778.209 million Impressions (last week 847.007 million Impressions). Star Plus moved to the second spot with 745.182 million Impressions (last week 745.149 million Impressions). Zee TV climbed up to third position with 695.276 million Impressions (last week 738.489 million Impressions) while Star Bharat dropped to the fourth rank, recording 740.960 million Impressions (last week 734.742 million Impressions).  Star Utsav with 619.540 million Impressions (last week 630.978 million Impressions) took fifth spot, followed by Colors with 552.334 million Impressions (last week 552.186 million Impressions). Sony Pal stayed at seventh rank with 500.363 million Impressions (last week 538.862 million Impressions). Sony Entertainment Television with 476.220 million Impressions (last week 523.452 million Impressions) took the eighth rank. Dangal TV with 413.567 million Impressions (last week 457.151 million Impressions) and Sony Sab with 411.676 million Impressions (last week 399.752 million Impressions) maintained the No.9 and No.10 ranks.

Top shows in U+R market

Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya stayed at the top spot, logging 14.053 million Impressions (last week 13.938 million Impressions). Colors’ Naagin 3 climbed to the second position and clocked 13.190 million Impressions (last week 12.573 million Impressions) while Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya dropped to third spot with 12.275 (last week 13.192 million Impressions). Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya followed at fourth spot with 10.580 million Impressions (last week 12.106 million Impressions). Star Bharat’s Radhakrishn slipped to the fifth rank and registered10.464 million Impressions (last week 12.499 million Impressions).

Top channels in Urban market

In Week 50, Star Plus maintained its lead in the urban market. The channel stayed at the No. 1 position, garnering 514.412 million Impressions (last week 507.578 million Impressions).  Zee TV maintained the No. 2 position, registering 421.807 million Impressions (last week 444.940 million Impressions) followed by Colors at third spot with 379.774 million Impressions (last week 373.949 Impressions). Sony Entertainment Television dropped to the No.4 position, registering 354.395 million impressions (last week 380.532 million Impressions).  Star Bharat with 341.121 million Impressions (last week 370.102 million Impressions) took No.5 position. Sony SAB stayed at No.6 with 310.319 million Impressions (last week 301.108 million Impressions) and Star Utsav clocked 202.238 million Impressions (last week194.690 million Impressions) at seventh position. It was followed by Sony Pal at eighth position with 151.485 million Impressions (last week 158.203 million Impressions). Zee Anmol slipped to ninth position with 151.485 million Impressions (last week 158.387 million Impressions) and &TV at No.10 with 117.245 million Impressions (last week 119.856 million Impressions).

Colors’ Naagin 3 grabbed the top spot and registered 8.644 million Impressions (last week 8.071 million Impressions). Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya dropped to the second rank with 7789 million Impressions (last week 8.229 million Impressions). Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya jumped to third rank and clocked 7.789 million Impressions (last week 7.452 million Impressions).  Star Plus’ Kulfi Kumar Bajewala dropped to fourth rank with 6.187 million Impressions (last week 7.505 million Impressions).  Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai entered the list at the fifth spot with 6.109 million Impressions.

Top channels in Rural market

Zee Anmol remained at No. 1 position and clocked 626.723 million Impressions (last week 688.621 million Impressions). Star Utsav reclaimed the second spot with 417.302 million Impressions (last week 434.369 million Impressions) whereas Sony Pal at No.3 position clocked 345.993 million Impressions (last week 380.659 million Impressions). Star Bharat and Dangal TV remained at fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Star Bharat garnered 326.684 million Impressions (last week 370.858 million Impressions) while Dangal TV clocked 319.031million Impressions (last week 355.747 million Impressions). Rishtey grabbed sixth position with 292.228 million Impressions (last week 283.857 million Impressions) while Zee TV slipped to seventh with 273.469 million Impressions (last week 293.550 million Impressions). At No.8, Star Plus logged 230.770 million Impressions (last week 237.571 million Impressions). It was followed by Big Magic at the ninth position, clocking 203.717 (last week 221.374 million Impressions). Colors at No. 10 position clocked 172.559 (last week 178.237 million Impressions).

Top shows in Rural market

Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya remained at No.1 position and registered 11.579 million Impressions (last week 11.607 million Impressions). Dangal TV’s Ramayan moved to second spot with 7.055 million Impressions (last week 7.292 million Impressions) while Zee Anmol’s Mehak slipped to third position, clocking 6.647 million Impressions (last week 8.371 million Impressions).  Zee Anmol’s Ek Main Aur Ek Tu stayed at No. 4 position, registering 6.497 million Impressions (last week 7.280 million Impressions). Sony Pal’s Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma remained at the fifth position and clocked 5.821 million Impressions (last week 6.618 million Impressions).
