GEC Watch: Star Plus remains leader in Urban market for Week 48

Zee Anmol maintained its leadership in U+R and Rural markets while Sony Entertainment Television slipped to the third position in Urban

Star Plus continued to rule the Urban markets in Week 48 of BARC’s television ratings. Zee TV moved up to the second position while Sony Entertainment Television slipped to the third position. Star Plus registered growth in the number of Impressions in all three markets.

Zee Anmol led the combined U+R and Rural markets. Sony Pal and Colors showed a decline in the number of Impressions in all three markets.

Top channels in U+R market

According to BARC data, India HSM (Urban+Rural): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, for Week 48 (November 17-November 23) of 2018, Zee Anmol at the No.1 position clocked 873.218 million Impressions (last week 839.585 million Impressions).

Zee TV moved to the second spot with761.001 million Impressions (last week 707.398 million Impressions). 

Star Bharat took the third rank, recording 734.742 million Impressions (last week 759.104 million Impressions). Star Plus dropped to No. 4 position and garnered 732.873 (last week 707.398 million Impressions).

Sony Pal with 621.204 million Impressions (last week 600.897 million Impressions) moved to fifth spot, followed by Star Utsav on sixth with 618.101million Impressions (last week 706.312 million Impressions).

Sony Entertainment Television with 578.150 million Impressions (last week 594.133 million Impressions) swapped places with Colors for the seventh spot. Colors at the eighth rank registered 565.229 million Impressions (last week 600.118million Impressions). 

Dangal TV with 455.426 million Impressions and Sony Sab with 392.154 million Impressions maintained the No.9 and No.10 ranks.

Top shows in U+R market

Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya stayed at the top spot, logging 14.881 million Impressions (last week 14.227 million Impressions).

Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya moved up to the second spot, securing 12.691 million Impressions (last week 11.608 million Impressions) while Kumkum Bhagya jumped up to third rank with 12.327 million Impressions (last week 11.143 million Impressions).

Colors’ Naagin 3 dropped to the fourth position and clocked 12.325 million Impressions (last week 13.621 million Impressions). Star Bharat’s Radhakrishn dropped to the fifth rank and registered 11.202 million Impressions (last week 11.187 million Impressions).

Top channels in Urban market

In Week 47, Urban market was ruled by Star Plus. The channel jumped to the No. 1 position, garnering 507.819 (last week 495.952 million Impressions). 

Zee TV jumped to the No. 2 position, registering 468.419 million Impressions (last week 419.733 million Impressions). 

Sony Entertainment Television dropped to the No. 3 position, registering 432.072 Impressions (last week 446.561 million Impressions). 

The rest of the list remained the same as Colors with 384.395 Impressions (last week 412.030 million Impressions) and Star Bharat with 366.165 Impressions (last week 372.298 million Impressions) stayed at No. 4 and No.5 position, respectively.

Maintaining the previous sixth and seventh spot Sony SAB registered 297.281 million Impressions (last week 315.458 million Impressions) and Star Utsav clocked 194.690 million Impressions.

It was followed by Sony Pal at eight rank with 171.063 million Impressions (last week 172.893 million Impressions), Zee Anmol at ninth position with 164.478 million Impressions (last week 154.868 million Impressions) and &TV at No.10 with 119.320 million Impressions (last week 114.770 million Impressions).

Top shows in Urban market

Colors’ Naagin 3 at No. 1 position registered 8.110 million Impressions (last week 9.093 million Impressions).

Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya at No. 2 garnered 8.013 million Impressions (last week 7.378 million Impressions).

Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol entered the list at the third spot with 7.606 million Impressions.

Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya dropped to the fourth spot with 7.586 million Impressions (last week 6.826 million Impressions).

Star Plus’ Kulfi Kumar Bajewala slipped to fifth rank and clocked 7.267 million Impressions (last week 6.529 million Impressions).

Top channels in Rural market

Zee Anmol remained at No. 1 position and clocked 708.740 (last week 684.717 million Impressions). 

Sony Pal reclaimed the second spot with 450.141 million Impressions (last week 428.004 million Impressions) whereas Star Utsav dropped to third with 423.411 million Impressions (last week 491.473 million Impressions). 

Star Bharat and Dangal TV remained at fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Star Bharat garnered 368.578 million Impressions (last week 386.806 million Impressions) while Dangal TV clocked 356.311 million Impressions (last week 349.965 million Impressions).

At No. 6, Zee TV logged 292.582 (last week 267.118 million Impressions) whereas Rishtey slipped to seventh with 270.226 million Impressions (last week 274.430 million Impressions). 

Big Magic stayed at the eighth position and logged 232.905 million Impressions (last week 246.805 million Impressions). It was followed by Star Plus at the ninth position, clocking 225.054 million Impressions (last week 211.446 million Impressions).  Colors at No. 10 position clocked 180.834 million Impressions (last week 188.088 million Impressions).

 

Top shows in Rural market

 Zee Anmol’s Kumkum Bhagya remained at No.1 position and registered 12.469 million Impressions (last week 11.974 million Impressions).

Zee Anmol’s Mehak stayed at No. 2 position, clocking 8.518 million Impressions (last week 8.581 million Impressions).

Dangal TV’s Ramayan remained at third spot and registered7.574 million Impressions (last week 7.123 million Impressions).

Zee Anmol’s Ek Main Aur Ek Tu entered the top list and secured No. 4 position, registering 7.150 million Impressions.

Sony Pal’s Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma dropped to fifth position and clocked 7.102 million Impressions (last week 6.263 million Impressions).
