Ajay Gahlaut, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy North and Deputy CCO, Ogilvy India, has decided to quit Ogilvy and Mather and do something beyond advertising. His tenure at the agency was more than 11 years and would end this month. Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and Creative Director, Ogilvy South Asia confirmed the news to BestMediaInfo.com.

Pandey said, “Ajay is looking for life beyond advertising and for that reason, I cannot stop him just like I couldn’t stop Abhijit. If Abhijit was going to another agency, I wouldn’t have let him go. Everyone has a dream and unfortunately I can’t fulfil that dream. He has done a stellar job and I am very proud of him.”

Gahlaut is the man behind the iconic polio campaign, KFC ads and Seagram Imperial Blue’s funny commercial.

Gahlaut has shifted between McCann, Rediffusion, Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy & Mather throughout his career since 1994. He finally settled at Ogilvy & Mather’s Delhi office with the belief that it is very difficult to find a work culture like Ogilvy & Mather anywhere else.
