Lodestar drives away with BMW India media mandate

Lodestar UM India has won the media duties for BMW India on the back of a multi-agency pitch. This is possibly one of the longest running pitches in the media business, starting off in late December last year.

Sources close to the development confirmed the news to BestMediaInfo.com. The account size is estimated to be more than Rs 50 crore.

BMW India has been working with the DAN agencies Carat India and Vizeum India for nearly a decade. Lately, Vizeum had been handling the account.

As it completes 10 years in the Indian market, BMW Group has plans to invest Rs 12.5 billion in its subsidiaries in India. It intends to increase its outlet numbers to 50 in India, up from the current 41. BMW entered the Indian market in 2007 and established the luxury car segment altogether in India. Globally, 2016 was one of the most successful years for BMW with annual sales setting a new record for the sixth year in a row. The BMW Group achieved its best ever first quarter in 2017 and marked for the first time half a billion mark such early in the first year.
