Havas Creative Group announced the appointment of Mike Amour as Chairman and CEO of Asia Pacific. Amour will report to Andrew Benett, Global CEO of Havas Creative Group, and will be based in Singapore.
In this new role, Amour will be responsible for leading and driving continued collaboration and growth in the APAC region. The appointment is a key milestone in the group's ongoing efforts to build agile teams and integrated structures to deliver the most impact for clients.
“Mike is a visionary leader with a track record of driving transformation, and I'm confident his leadership will further accelerate the Group's performance in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Benett. “He is a true internationalist with unique experience across different communications disciplines and developing markets.”
Commenting on the development, Amour said, “I am excited to be joining a company where clients can access a truly integrated service offering. The network's Village model is a significant competitive advantage, and I look forward to leveraging it fully to make Havas an indispensable partner to brands in the region.”
Amour will be taking over from Juan Rocamora, currently Chairman, Havas Creative Group APAC, who will retire at the end of the year. Prior to joining Havas Creative Group, Amour was President, Asia Pacific, Starcom Mediavest Group. He also led Grey Group Asia Pacific for four years as Chairman and CEO, where he oversaw significant growth, including acquisitions in China, India, and Vietnam. Prior to that, based in London, New York, Tokyo, Paris and Portland, Amour held senior management positions at McCann, TBWA, and Wieden + Kennedy.
“After 20 years with Havas, the last seven in APAC, I felt that turning 60 was the right moment to settle back with my family in Barcelona and enjoy life at a more leisurely pace. Mike is a terrific guy, and I am sure that he will lead the great team we have been building up in the region to new heights,” said Rocamora.
