Savlon, ITC's health and hygiene brand, has roped in ace shuttler Saina Nehwal as its brand ambassador. In its new campaign with Nehwal, Savlon seeks to inspire parents to let go of their fears and encourage children to push their limits and maximise their potential to succeed in life.
The ad film, conceptualised by Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai, shows Nehwal proving everyone wrong who did not believe in her. The film ends with Nehwal asking parents not to tell their kids 'they will never amount to anything', as such words inflict the deepest wounds.
Sameer Satpathy, Chief Executive, Personal Care Products Business, ITC Limited, said, “Savlon is happy to engage shuttler Saina Nehwal as the brand ambassador. Her journey exemplifies determination, dedication and hard work. Saina personifies Savlon's core brand thought of performance power in more ways than one.”
Speaking about the campaign he added, “Parents want their children to succeed but also want to protect them from the world. As a brand we seek to inspire parents to encourage their children to challenge limits and maximise their true potential. The brand purpose is to impact society in a positive manner and create a meaningful engagement and also to showcase the performance of Savlon, which is the best product of its kind in the market.”
Commenting on the campaign Kainaz Karmakar and Harshad Rajadhyaksha, ECDs, Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai, said, “The thought – Words hurt more than wounds – is a property that the brand can own for a long time. What we love about it is its ability to be so close to the functionality of Savlon and yet also so close to a big truth of life. But all of this is no good if the execution suffers. A big thank you to Bob and Good Morning Films for making it with so much passion.”
Voicing his expectations from the campaign Ramakrishnan Hariharan, Senior Creative Director, Ogilvy Mumbai, added, “Many talented kids give up on their passions because they fear failure and ridicule. We wanted this campaign to provoke a change. Hopefully this film will give kids and parents a new perspective, through Saina's story. Hope the film inspires the audience."
