Teaching is one of the noblest and toughest professions. From Dronacharya to modern day school teachers, the Gurus have always enlightened pupils with knowledge and wisdom but the world often fails to recognise their efforts and end up taking them for granted.

But this Guru Purnima (July 19), Teno, a school communication app, in creative association with Scarecrow Communications, expressed their gratitude towards teachers and paid them due respect with a special prayer solely dedicated to them. Going by Indian traditions, Guru Purnima is the ancient, mythological Teachers' Day in India. This festival has great importance for Indian academics and scholars. Indians celebrate this day by thanking their teachers as well as remembering past teachers and scholars. Students offer prayers in schools seeking a better and productive life.

But in this special prayer, teachers ask for a more sorted life. The prayer illustrates their everyday struggle in living up to the high expectations of students and their parents.

Manish Bhatt, Founder Director, Scarecrow Communications, said, “This is the first ever prayer by teachers. We wanted to empathise with the hurdles of teachers and show them rays of hope of a better day. The idea is to show teaching is not an easy job and teachers should be given their due respect. I believe Guru Purnima is the perfect time to bring this song to people's attention and rekindle the respect for teachers in everyone's mind.”

Anurag Dixit of Teno said, “Teno is new age communication platform used by more than 500 schools across India to bring their parent community closer and create a happier school-parent ecosystem. The app in a very small span of time has become a voice of tens of thousands of teachers, who in turn have shared millions of precious moments of joy with lakhs of parents. This prayer is our earnest tribute to these super humans, teachers and gurus who are not only scripting a better tomorrow for our next generation but also gifting society a blissful today.”

Teno is an app for schools that facilitates the teachers to reduce the communication gap with students and their parents. They found Guru Purnima to be the most appropriate opportunity to pay tribute to teachers. The prayer has been uploaded on sound cloud. The link will be promoted and available on Facebook on this Guru Purnima.
