GEC Watch: Star Plus retains No. 1 position

Star Plus, Colors and Life OK see rise in viewership, while Zee TV and SAB TV see a decline. Sony Entertainment Television is back in top 10 club

In week 5 of BARC Impressions, Star Plus, Colors and Life Ok saw an increase in viewership. Zee TV and SAB TV witnessed a decline, while Sony Entertainment Television gained viewership to come back into the top 10 club. Star Plus retained its No. 1 position.

According to select data shared by BARC India for Week 5 for Hindi general entertainment channels (January 30 - February 5) {HSM: NCCS All: 4+ Individuals: BARC India base – All India (U+R), Impressions (000s)}, Star Plus witnessed 724223 Impressions, a rise from last week's 711598.

Colors is at No. 2 with 713106, a rise from last week's 702727.

Zee TV retains the No. 3 position with 684106 Impressions, a decline from last week's 692249.

Life OK is at No. 4 with 425211 Impressions compared to last week's 411480.

Sony Entertainment Television is at No. 5 with 338638 Impressions.

SAB TV slipped to No. 6 with 334730 Impressions (last week 341472).

FTA channels

Significantly, all the top FTA channels saw significant drop in viewership in Week 5.

Zee Anmol is at No. 1 with 540883 Impressions, despite a substantial decline from last week's 665127.

Star Utsav is at No. 2 with 355093 (last week 487280).

Sony Pal is at No. 3 with 330874 Impressions (last week 420179).

Rishtey is at No. 4 with 289121, a steep fall from last week's 416858.

Top 5 programmes in Hindi GECs

As per select data HSM: NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 - 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals: BARC India base – All India (U+R), Colors' Naagin remains the most viewed show with 19573 Impressions (last week 19133).

Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya is at No. 2 with 14587 Impressions (last week 15554).

Star Plus' Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is at No. 3 with 13003 Impressions (last week 12095).

Colors' Sasural Simar Ka is at No. 4 with 12716 (last week 11689).

Star Plus' Ye Hai Mohabbatein beat Zee TV's Jamai Raja to come back to the top five with 10956 Impressions.
