A study by US-based mobile marketing company Tune reveals that India represents 7.4 per cent of the world’s mobile app ad clicks, which translates to a 164.3 per cent increase in one year

Tune, a US-based mobile marketing company, has broken down mobile app trends it has witnessed in India. The infographic reveals that when it comes to overall clicks on mobile ads, India has the highest YOY increase in mobile app ad spend.
India represents 7.4 per cent of the world’s mobile app ad clicks, which is a 164.3 per cent increase in one year. In India, Maharashtra registered the highest number of clicks, followed by Haryana, Karnataka, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.
The report notes that India is the fastest growing region for ad-driven app installs when compared to markets like Europe, North America and APAC.
In India, 5.5 per cent of the consumers installed an app after clicking on ad, which represents a 139.13 per cent increase in one year even as all other regions decreased their ad-driven app install rate, except for South America, which grew at 45.5 per cent.
Games is the most popular app category, while Social comes second. Lifestyle and Music make the top four.
Similarly, Games makes the most app revenue, followed by Travel, Lifestyle and Social.
India is the fastest growing region compared to markets like Europe, North America and APAC for in-app spending. Indians represent 2.9 per cent of the worlds in app revenue, which is a 625 per cent increase in one year by comparison. Meanwhile, North Americans decreased in-app spending by 28.9 per cent.
Indian consumers lead the world in using the apps they install, opening an app more times on average than other regions.
On an average, Indian consumers open an app 16.8 times after installation. This is nearly double the usage rate for the rest of APAC (stats represented over a year’s time).
