GEC Watch - Star Plus reclaims the top spot
Colors slid to No. 2 in Week 38 after spending two weeks at the top; Zee TV and Life OK saw marginal gains in viewership. 'Saat Nibhana Saathiya' back as top rated programme

After being in the top spot among Hindi GECs for the last two weeks, Colors slid to No. 2 as Star Plus regained its No. 1 position in Week 38 (September 19-Septemeber 25) of BARC ratings.
According to select data (HSM : NCCS All : Individuals : BARC India base – C&S 1Lac+), Star Plus gained a lead in viewership of 28 million to reclaim the top spot with a gross viewership of 409 million. The channel had secured a viewership of 381 million in the previous week.
Meanwhile, Colors lost viewership of 35 million as it slipped to the second place with a gross viewership of 380 million. The channel had garnered a gross viewership of 415 million in Week 37.
Zee TV, which had secured a gross viewership of 257 million in Week 37, saw a slight increase in its viewership this week as it fetched a gross viewership of 272 million to retain the third spot.
Life OK (last week 222 million) was placed fourth spot with a gross viewership of 237 million.
SAB TV also held on to its fifth spot with a gross viewership of 190 million in Week 38, compared to a gross viewership of 184 million in the previous week.
Top 5 programmes on Hindi GECs
Star Plus' 'Saath Nibhana Saathiya' rose to the top spot with a viewership of 7,782 (ratings in sum of 000s).
Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' climbed to the second spot with a viewership of 6,130 (ratings in sum of 000s).
Colors' show 'Sasural Simar Ka' that topped the charts last week slipped to the third spot with a viewership of 6,043 (ratings in sum of 000s).
Star Plus' 'Deeya aur Baati' made a return to the top 5, taking the fourth spot with a viewership of 5,685 (ratings in sum of 000s).
Colors' show 'Udaan' slipped to the fifth spot with a viewership of 5,636 (ratings in sum of 000s).
