MediaCom has been assigned the consolidated media duties of Future Group following a multi-agency pitch. This consolidation comes after MediaCom's win of Future Group's TV mandate in April 2014. Allied Media was the incumbent for print and other media.
The Future Group business will be managed out of MediaCom's Mumbai office. Ashwini Kamat, National Buying Director, MediaCom India, who led the pitch, will also oversee the business. The account size is estimated to be Rs 300 crore.
MediaCom will manage planning and buying for Future Group. Future Group's media mandate is one of the largest in the industry this year and is MediaCom's ninth win in 2015.
Sandip Tarkas
Commenting on the move, Sandip Tarkas, President, Customer Strategy, Future Group, said, “Future Group has a very diverse set of businesses and is a challenging business for any media agency to handle. MediaCom used their experience on working on a part of the account very well and understood our requirements well and impressed us all with their offerings in response to our need. Their choice of the team lead in Ashwini Kamat also played an important role in making the decision – as we now have an agency with very strong lineage, an understanding of our need, a solid experienced top management and a very responsive and responsible team leader to handle our account.”
Debraj Tripathy
Debraj Tripathy, MD, MediaCom, added here, “We feel privileged to partner Future Group, undoubtedly the pioneers in the Indian retail space. It is a big responsibility and a challenge. The team is excited and is raring to go.”
