Google India has announced the launch of 'Squared', an intensive 12-day training programme in India to empower the next generation of digital leaders. This training programme for advertising professionals will be focused on how to effectively use digital tools like mobile, social platforms and video to create impactful campaigns.
Squared was first piloted in the UK, where more than 300 employees from 60 agencies and advertisers participated over a period of time. India is now the sixth market of Squared's global roll-out following London, Singapore, New York, Hong Kong and Germany.
“Digital is an integral part of any successful brand strategy today, yet finding people with the right skills on digital is a constant challenge. Squared focusses on addressing this need. We are excited to bring this programme to India to equip a new generation of advertising leaders with digital, technological and leadership skills. We hope to inspire the participants to become digital ambassadors who can help grow their client's businesses by embracing new technology-driven opportunities,” said Punitha Arumugam, Head of Agency Business (India & SEA) at Google.
Squared is designed and developed by Google in collaboration with the industry. Google has worked with Indian industry experts from different fields to ensure the curriculum is tailored to key industry challenges in India.
Google will kick off the programme on June 22, 2015 in India with over 40 participants from agencies like Dentsu Aegis, Interpublic Group, GroupM, Starcom, ZenithOptimedia, Omnicom Media Group and Madison. It is a two-week residential programme with hands on experience on live briefs and projects. Google has plans to roll out more such best-in-class learning programmes in the future.
