Wipro Enterprises' brand, Santoor, takes forward the brand promise of 'younger looking skin' to the younger, more urban TG in its new TVC for Santoor Face Wash. Created by FCB Ulka, Santoor's distinct creative hook – mistaken identity – which has been at the core of the brand's communication for over 25 years, has been taken forward for Santoor Face Wash as well.
The film begins with the protagonist sitting at a café working on her laptop. A guy sitting at another table happens to notice her and is amazed by her beauty. Mustering up courage, he walks up to her to start a conversation. That's when he notices a pram with a baby next to her and realises she is a mother. Taken aback, he compliments the protagonist on her “cute” baby and walks away. The TVC has a cheeky take on a typical 'boy meets girl' situation.
Speaking about the campaign, Dennis Koshy, Vice-President - Bangalore, FCB Ulka, said, “The challenge with Santoor Face Wash was to retain Santoor's core essence, yet be relevant to the younger, mostly urban, face wash audience. The commercial has been able to do both. The execution allows for an element of surprise, leaving the audience with a smile on their face.”
Commenting on the execution, Dharmesh Shah, Creative Director, FCB Ulka (Bangalore), said, “The challenge was to appeal to the younger face wash audience without sacrificing the idea of mistaken age. I am glad we found a way to do it in such an engaging and beautiful way.”
