One of the most prominent faces in marketing, Lloyd Mathias has returned to the corporate world two years after he left it to start his management consultancy, GreenBean Ventures. He has joined Hewlett-Packard (HP) India as Head – Marketing for the Personal Computers and Printers group.
He replaces Ranjivjit Singh, who moved out recently. He will be based in HP’s Gurgaon office.
In his last corporate role, Mathias was President and CMO of Tata Teleservices, where he headed marketing for consumer and enterprise businesses, besides product and revenue management. Prior to Tata Tele, he was Senior Director at Motorola, and headed its marketing functions.
Mathias started his career with Onida and went to work with different brands such as United Spirits and PepsiCo. At Pepsi, Mathias headed marketing for the non-cola brands Mirinda, 7Up, Slice, Mountain Dew and bottled mineral water band Aquafina.
In the last two years, however, Mathias took a break from the hardcore corporate world. In April 2012 he set up GreenBean Ventures, his own management consultancy, committed to working with start-ups in the technology and telecom sector. It is learnt that Mathias has exited from GreenBean Ventures, having sold his shareholding to his partners.
In his 24-year career, he also co-chaired the Device Strategy Council at CDMA Development Group and also chaired the Media Research Users Council (MRUC).
