Life OK brings mytho-thriller 'Mahakumbh' to replace 'Mahadev'

Life OK's magnum opus 'Devon ke Dev...Mahadev' will be replaced by another legendary tale 'Mahakumbh - Ek Rahasya, Ek Kahani'. Produced by Arvind Babbal Productions, the show will be launched on December 15, and will be aired every Monday to Friday at 8 PM. Actor Gautam Rode is the lead protagonist and will be seen in a heroic avatar.

While 'Mahadev' captured victory of good over evil, this new show revolves around the journey of the enigmatic Rudra (Rode) who is hit by a life-changing catastrophe while in the Kumbh Mela. He gets separated from his family and meets Udiya baba (Robin Das) who takes him to the ghats of Varanasi where Maii-Muii (Seema Biswas) protects and raises him. Rudra spends his childhood on the ghats around the funeral pyres, oblivious to the unprecedented powers he possesses. But he eventually discovers his purpose of existence that will lead him to the secret of Mahakumbh.

Rode said, “'Mahakumbh' has a very unique concept and I was certain to take it up when I heard the script for the first time. A character as powerful as Rudra's required me to be physically and mentally fit to substantiate its ruggedness. Furthermore, I underwent a lot of training to get into the skin of the character. I also feel lucky in a way, as this show is my hat-trick of working with Arvind Babbal Productions.”

Actor Seema Biswas will make her television debut with this new show. Actors Payal Rajput, Manish Wadhwa, Robin Das, Ketki Dave and child actor Siddharth Nigam will also be seen essaying pivotal roles.
