5^th edition of Watch World Awards today

The awards celebrate the best in horology and brings together legendary watchmakers and eclectic aficionados on a common platform to pay tribute to the great art of watchmaking

The definitive roll-call show in the world of horology – Watch World Awards returns in its fifth iteration to honour the best in the science of watchmaking. Hosted by the Chitralekha Group, Watch World Awards-2014 will be held today at The Westin, Gurgaon.

The event will see well-known watch brands vying for coveted commendations in two categories, namely Marketing Awards - including Best Campaigns in Print, Best Campaigns in TV, Best Outdoor Initiative, Best Boutique, Best Organised Event and Best Integrated Marketing Campaign, and Product Awards - including Best Complicated Watch, Best Jewellery Watch, Best Sports Watch, Best Fashion Watch, Watch with Best Design, Watch with Most Innovative Material, Watch with Highest Utility, Watch with Artistic Excellence, Best Limited Edition Watch and Best Concept Watch.

These stand-out watches and marketing concepts will be adjudicated by a luminary galaxy of jurists which includes Antoine Simonin, Swiss master watchmaker with five decades of experience in watchmaking, acclaimed film director Neeraj Pandey, polo champion and Arjuna Award winner Adhiraj Singh, leading men's fashion designer Raghavendra Rathore, along with established marketing consultants Shripad Nadkarni and Sharda Agarwal.

Promising to be grander than ever, this fifth edition of Watch World Awards will be privy to an exclusive appreciation of the highest standards of horology. In the presence of the celebrated glitterati and the crème-de-la-crème of society, the event will host the who's who of politics along with industrialists, bureaucrats, lawyers and members from the corporate world, as also an enviable line-up of page three celebrities.

Expected attendees include Bollywood Director Kabir Khan, actors Sharmila Tagore and Shriya Saran, Tibor Kovacs, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of Hungary, Ashish Kapur, Co-founder & Managing Director of Yo! China, Dimsum Bros. & The Wine Company, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, The Royal Prince of Mewar / Udaipur and Executive Director of HRH Group, Sandeep Jajodia - Chairman & Managing Director, Monnet Group, and cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, amongst others.

The event will be a fusion of accurate engineering, glitz, glamour and razzmatazz. Apart from the celebrations, the evening will also feature an unplugged musical performance by Jonita Gandhi, which will add a soulful sparkle to the event.

The coveted awards will cover 10 product categories and six marketing categories, along with a special award given to an individual for his/her contribution to the watch industry – the 'Haute Horlegerie' award and the highlight award – 'Watch of the Year'.
