SAB TV's newest show is quite out of this world. Literally. Taking a page from a sci-fi novel, the channel has come up with India's first alien comedy called 'Badi Doooor Se Aaye Hai'. Starting June 9, 2014, the show will be about an alien family which lands on Earth and cannot go back.
Equipped with super powers, the family looks for their lost son and in the meantime takes the form of human beings and stays within us. The show will revolve around the everyday struggles of the alien family to fit into normal life and their encounters with neighbours which lead to funny situations.
Replacing 'Jeannie aur Juju' in the weekday (Monday-Friday) primetime slot of 9.30 PM, 'Badi Doooor Se Aaye Hai' has been produced by Hatsoff Production. The same production house which brought 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' and 'Instant Khichdi'.
Anooj Kapoor, Executive VP & Business Head, SAB TV, said, “Our new show will present a fresh concept and a unique idea as to why humans have so many boundaries and hostilities towards each other, and that too from the point of view of those who come from another unbiased world. JD Majethia and Aatish Kapadia from Hatsoff Production have delivered some popular shows like 'Khichdi' and 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai'. It has been a fun experience working with Hatsoff.”
Playing the lead in the show will be established comedy star Sumeet Raghavan. It will also feature popular couple Tanaaz and Bakhtiyar Irani among others. The comedy will also star Rupali Bhosle and Bhawna Khatri in pivotal roles.
“Badi Dooor Se Aaye Hai is a complete out of this world comedy TV series. We have always tried to bring some new concept and SAB TV has always been there with us. Some of these ideas have worked, some have not worked. This is the first time that Indian audiences will get to watch an alien comedy show and we are sure they will love the experience,” said JD Majethia, Founder, Hatsoff Production.
The channel is going to focus on all possible marketing mediums for their new show. Said Kapoor, “All mediums like OOH, digital and mobile are always leveraged for any of our shows. Both ATL and BTL activities are being planned and are focused on Hindi speaking markets. Visual hoardings, bus shelters, OOH screens across these towns are well utilised to promote the show.”
