Man Pasand's flagship product - Mango Sip - has a new face to take it to the masses. The fruit-based beverage brand has signed on Sunny Deol as brand ambassador. Deol features in the newest campaign which showcases Mango Sip as the alternative to mango from the trees, in a sensitive and emotional TVC.

Mango Sip was established in 1998 and became instantly popular with the rural audience. To take it to the next level, the producers of Mango Sip, Man Pasand Beverages, has decided to connect with a larger audience through a campaign made by Sunny Deol's production house Vijayta Films. The music has been given by Rajiv Bhalla. No creative agency was involved in creating the campaign.

“The brief we got from the company was to create a commercial which would not be like the typical cola ads. The brand represents very Indian values. We didn't want it to be funny or wacky, but emotional and sensitive so that people could connect with it from the word go. So we wanted something which created the Indian-ness in the ad while having a man who stood for those values in our eyes. Sunny Deol was the perfect match for it. It was a collective effort actually and we were just there at the right place at the right time,” said Vivek Chauhan, Creative Director, Blue God Films.

The TVC opens with Sunny Deol talking to his son in the fields. He teaches the son how to pluck mangoes from the tree. However, the scene changes to show how he had to then leave the village and go to the border as he is in the army. As he remembers fondly how he taught his son to pluck mangoes, he feels nostalgic. Deol then opens a package from his son while he is at the border and seen inside is a bottle of Mango Sip. The TVC ends with the voiceover saying, 'Sip India Sip, Mango Sip'.

With this campaign Man Pasand has tried to use Sunny Deol's patriotic hero image which gels well with the brand's philosophy.

Said Dhirendra Singh, Managing Director, Man Pasand Beverages,” I have always thought that our brand should be about the entire family. It's not true that only the youth enjoys a mango drink. We all do. So instead of a fun youthful commercial we wanted to make something everyone can relate to. Therefore we made this campaign.”
